Why hair and beauty salons in Toowoomba lose calls
The trade
You cannot answer the phone with your hands in a client’s hair, and stopping mid-service to take a booking annoys the person in the chair. The call goes unanswered, and the booking goes somewhere with an online form.
Toowoomba
Toowoomba businesses often service the wider Darling Downs, which means hours on the road and a phone nobody is free to answer.
When the calls actually land
Saturday mornings, and the evening run of bookings for the following weekend. Estric AI covers all of it, including between 5pm and 8am AEST, on weekends and on QLD public holidays, so a caller in Darling Downs reaches a real conversation instead of a message bank.
What answering the phone in Toowoomba actually involves
Toowoomba businesses often service the wider Darling Downs as well as the city, which means hours on the road and long stretches where nobody is free to answer a phone. A round trip to an outlying town can consume a day, and the calls arriving during it are not deferred, they are lost. Getting a proper description of the problem before committing to the drive is the difference between a profitable job and a wasted one. The region carries a substantial agricultural and transport base alongside its residential work, so the same business handles farm equipment, commercial premises and houses. Toowoomba also sits high enough to get a real winter, which adds heating work to a Queensland market that is otherwise cooling driven. A local 07 number answered while the owner is two hours out on the Downs keeps the diary filling in the background.
Areas covered from Toowoomba
One 07 number covers the whole of Darling Downs, including Warwick, Dalby. There is nothing to change per suburb: the same agent answers, books and escalates wherever the caller happens to be.
- Warwick · Southern Darling Downs
Warwick is far enough from Toowoomba that a callout is a genuine round trip, so a business covering both needs the job properly described before it commits half a day to the drive. - Dalby · Western Darling Downs
Dalby sits in cropping and grazing country, so its call mix leans toward farm sheds and machinery premises alongside the usual residential work.

Common questions
Does it know how long each service takes?
Yes. Service durations come from your own service list, so the calendar stays realistic.
Can it take a deposit?
It can send a branded payment link and hold the slot until it is paid, if you turn that on for a service.
Do I get a Toowoomba phone number?
You can take a local 07 number, or keep the number you already advertise and forward it to Estric AI when you cannot pick up. Callers in Darling Downs see a local number either way, and nothing changes on your van, your signage or your listings.
Does it work outside Toowoomba business hours?
Yes. It answers every call, including between 5pm and 8am AEST and right through weekends and public holidays. Saturday mornings, and the evening run of bookings for the following weekend is exactly when a message bank costs you the most.
